My name is Samira, a professional painter working in abstract, avant-garde, and postmodern styles. Since 2016, I have been creating from my residential art studio in San Antonio, Texas. My life has always been guided by imagination, dreaming, and an enduring devotion to painting—long before earning my Bachelor of Arts in Painting in my hometown of Tehran, Iran back in 2002.

My artistic path has been shaped by a wide range of personal and professional experiences: founding and managing an atelier, traveling and living across three continents, building a life far from home, becoming a wife and mother abroad, and continuously engaging with the art world through exhibitions, events, and community gatherings. These transitions and intersections of identity, place, and responsibility deeply inform the emotional and conceptual layers of my work.

At the core of my practice lies a belief that love is the common denominator of human behavior and interaction. Throughout my cross-continental journey, I have witnessed love expressed in countless forms and intensities. Yet I have also observed how modern life—its pressures, routines, and fragmented communication—can obscure this essential emotion or redirect it in unintended ways.

I see art as a universal language capable of transcending these limitations, communicating beyond words, rules, and even the boundaries of the material world. Painting became my chosen medium, perhaps because of my deeply visual nature. While I have explored a wide range of styles, abstraction remains my primary focus for its freedom, timelessness, and openness to interpretation—unbound by literal forms or rigid symbolic systems.

My painting philosophy centers on openness and emotional honesty: allowing the inner self to emerge on the canvas. Through this process, I seek to access deeper layers of my subconscious while inviting viewers to engage with complex themes such as the beauty of life, motherhood and creation, childhood perspectives, and the rejection of violence. Throughout my artistic journey, I have participated in professional painting and art events, hosting over ten exhibitions and exhibiting in more than twenty shows. I co-founded the AMORDAD Atelier in Tehran and served as its gallery manager between 2004 and 2007, and two of my works are dedicated to and approved by the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art. Today, I continue to value meaningful connections with fellow artists and art enthusiasts around the world.
